Machinist
Location: Langley, Slough
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (on-site)
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per year (depending on experience)
We’re working with a well-established precision engineering business in Langley, Slough that’s looking to add an experienced Machinist to their busy workshop. This is a hands-on, permanent role for someone who enjoys practical machining work, takes pride in producing quality parts, and likes being part of a close-knit engineering team.

What you’ll be doing
- Machining components accurately and efficiently to drawings and specifications
- Operating manual lathes, CNC lathes (Fanuc), milling machines and bench drills
- Setting up machines, choosing tooling and adjusting settings to meet tight tolerances
- Working with a variety of materials including metals, alloys and stainless steel
- Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, callipers and gauges
- Checking finished parts to make sure quality and accuracy are spot on
- Spotting and resolving machining issues as they arise
- Carrying out basic machine maintenance and reporting any faults
- Managing your workload to meet production deadlines
- Working closely with the wider engineering and production team
- Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe at all times
- Previous experience in a machining or engineering manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with manual lathes and CNC lathes (Fanuc), milling machines and drills
- Confident reading and working from engineering drawings
- Good understanding of tolerances, measurements and thread forms
- A strong eye for detail and pride in producing quality work
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Comfortable working independently but happy to be part of a team
- Flexible approach, with some overtime when required
