Network & Telecom Engineering Strategy Implementation
- Analyse business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop solutions for IT needs
- Manage and develop regional team within the chapter to ensure qualified resources are always available to accommodate the growth plans and digital products
- Lead and manage the agile network infrastructure active and passive components (LAN, WAN, WLAN, A/V) and cloud connectivity within ICT chapter. Own problem determination, isolation, and resolution of complex support tickets
- Ensure the proper deployment of the standard network infrastructure during the new stores opening
- Deliver a cost-effective network solution and tool to utilize and optimize the existing OPEX across all services
- Ensure used Information Technology is standardized for the whole organization Retail in 17+ operating countries) including the used platforms and software, network cloud and network components (passive & active) hardware
- Ensure the organization has an appropriate multi-level external defense network in DC plus Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for critical business applications in place
- Participate in the central agreement and quotations yearly review and ensure it is supporting the business needs
- Configure with vendors and cloud Operations vendors a high speed and successful deployment till last mile solutions for each store include LAN, WLAN SDN/WAN/SDWAN, Iaas, Paas and QoS/CoS and cloud traffic monitoring
- Ensure implementation of the network performance management proactive tool
- Automate network changes, test, and operations processes. Improve the speed of delivery and network security level (LAN/WLAN/WAN).
- Propose an innovative solution/product for better and secure network services to e-commerce business and drive operational excellence
Infrastructure implementation & Industry Best Practices
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and tools and identify new opportunities to improve our network and telecom services
- Collaborate with GRC and Security teams to design and implement all necessary network security infrastructure as well as adopt best security standards to protect company’s assets and data
- Partner with GRC and security team to design and implement network security best practices
- Ensure the secure connectivity performance, availability, for business values
Coordination and Communication
- Follow up with Country IT Managers on the service level, availability and stability of network
- Collaborate with Retail key stakeholders, to provide them with regular updates through having an agreed communication plan that is conducive for the full duration of the project(s) to deliver on the business objectives
- Build relationships and maintain strong partnerships with key personnel to help achieve organisational goals
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the IT Network & Telecom Engineering function
Audit and Reporting
- Review stores network documentation, Health check and perform the necessary updates
- Contributing to the preparation of business presentations and reports related to IT Network & Telecom Engineering function for various stakeholders, on periodic and ad hoc basis as and when required
- Support on performing regular audit of various processes and databases for the IT Network & Telecom Engineering function in order to identify gaps and risks, and propose corrective actions
Policies and Procedures
- Ensure that network Procedures and policies are well deployed and followed in all stores
- Contribute to the review and update of the IT Network & Telecom Engineering function policies and procedures related and ensure it is implemented and reported on as a part of the policies and procedures for the IT function
- Contribute to the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
- Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
- Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
- Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
- Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
- Ensure the implementation of Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures
