Key Responsibilities:

• Broad based technical State Income Tax experience (e.g., Nexus, Unity, Apportionment, etc.) and compliance issues around completing a large complex tax return (e.g., required disclosures, elections, filing procedures)
• Broad understanding of federal income tax concepts especially as they apply to tax compliance.
• Broad based understanding and ability to apply concepts of US GAAP, ASC 740, and SOX controls and procedures
• Strong desire to broaden/build skills, including keeping up with technical changes
• Ability to maintain objective financial perspective, understand broader implications to the company and how own area contributes to achievement of objectives.
• Ability to discriminate between symptoms and root causes
• Ability to lead and manage a team of tax professionals in pursuit of established goals and perspectives.

• Independently identifies and resolves roadblocks.  Advises on and handles escalated issues for lower staff.
• Works collaboratively with both internal and external partners.  Understands impact of own group on the broader controllership organization and overall enterprise.
• Strong information technology skills (e.g., Microsoft Office and One Source) and advocates for use of existing and new technologies to drive efficiencies.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to frame communications appropriate to audience
