Responsibilities:
- Working in line with the business vision; creating and driving plans to achieve long term, sustainable profitable growth for the business.
- Ensuring development of a management structure that effectively drives business strategy.
- Develop the business strategy to achieve business expectations
- Develop and implement comprehensive business plans and cost-effective operational and market development activities
- Oversee the company’s financial performance, investments and other business ventures
- Champions the delivering of both commercial and operational targets, alongside profit contribution and market share; leading by example.
- Coach and ensure structures in place to train and coach the management team to be effective leaders.
- Develop a resilient and high performing collegiate leadership team with a clear and focused values agenda.
- Drive the organasitional culture, ensuring human capital remains the core and initiatives promoting their engagement are woven into the fabrics of the company evident in various decisions and systems created.
- Ensures end-to-end efficiency of the agro supply chain with minimal loss and optimal coordination of all elements
- Ensure profitability across various commodity lines and depths
- Work closely with local and international partners (customers, suppliers etc.) to ensure both local and international growth; forging new strategic alliances.
- Partner with the Board to ensure the business is capable of delivering the very highest quality standards, continues to innovate way ahead of its competitors and is seen as the clear aspirational choice of customers.
- Ensure that the employee and customer value promise is kept; upholding the brand credibility and reliability expectations.
- Be eco-conscious, making decisions that empower the immediate socio-cultural locations
- Champion the creation of systems and processes to ensure constant fueling of the innovation pipeline, leveraging customer feedback and insight resulting a successful channel and category development.
- Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson
- Build long term, trusting relationships with shareholders, business partners, staff and authorities; be highly present
- Build a performance driven work environment with adequate reward and sanctions systems to drive maximum performance, professional development and a positive culture
- Create systems and a people culture that drives issues resolution, prevention and continuous learning
- Display an executive disposition during public speaking, external and even internal engagements.
- Create a business with minimal regulatory infractions
- Other duties assigned by the Group CEO/ Board.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in finance and/or management, such as MBA, M.Sc. Finance, Agricultural Economics, Procurement and Supply or Accounting will be required.
- Minimum of 10 years cognate experience, with a minimum of 5 years team management experience and at least 3 in a senior level position.
- Experience in Financial Services Industry, Stock Market, Agricultural Commodity Exchange Market, Storage and Warehousing Receipt Systems, Supply Chain Management, or in a developing business centred on agricultural commodity marketing and trade will be required
- Knowledge of ERP systems especially SAP is needed
- A recognised professional qualification will be an added advantage.
Competence Requirements
- Fluency in the major Nigerian languages, Hausa especially is preferred
