• Title / Designation:  Network/Optical Engineer
• Location: Bangalore
• Experience: 2-5 years

Role & responsibilities:

• Work with IP and optical networking technologies, including optical transmission concepts, optical layers, and transport mechanisms.
• Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP, routing, and switching on networking devices such as routers and switches.
• Support testing and validation of IP and optical networking solutions to ensure performance and interoperability.
• Investigate issues, reproduce system behaviors, log defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve problems.
• Assist in test automation, log analysis, and tool development using Python.
• Participate in the software development and testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, documentation, and reporting.
• Contribute to exploratory initiatives involving GenAI/LLM technologies when applicable.

Candidate requirements:

• 2–5 years of experience in networking or optical networking environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and networking protocols.

• Experience configuring routers and switches.
• Basic understanding of optical networking concepts such as optical fiber, wavelengths, and signal transmission.
• Experience in testing networking or optical networking products.
• Understanding of SDLC and product testing processes.
• Basic Python scripting skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Exposure to DWDM, OTN, or optical transport technologies.
• Familiarity with optical network management technologies such as NETCONF/YANG.
• Knowledge of network security protocols like AAA/Radius, TLS, or IPsec.
• Experience with programmable networking, telemetry frameworks, or network automation tools.
• Exposure to GenAI or LLM technologies.
