Key Responsibilities

• Lead Execution of NPD projects to meet Customer Due Date
• Ensure protective Capacity is always available on time at plant and at suppliers to meet ongoing customer demands
• Train and Develop people in NPD

Relevant Tasks

• Ensure Active Task Management as per touch time is done for all NPD projects.

• Make project plans and monitor all tasks effectively
• Execute recovery actions through buffer recovery platform for delays in task management.
• Implement long-term POOGI actions on NPD project delays to improve touch time performance (POOGI – Process of ongoing improvement)

• Monitor and Identify Constraints in NPD, Plant capacity, Suppliers capacity on regular intervals

• Implement Exploitation projects to release capacity as per inputs from Materials
• Elevate capacity by implementing expansion / new projects on time to meet ROI targets

• Identify KSA gaps through Performance reviews for key people in NPD

• Develop and Deliver Training Plan along with HR for key People
• Monitor Training Effectiveness through performance improvement

KNOWLEDGE

LEADERSHIP ROLE: ROLE IN STRATEGY / PLANNING/ PROBLEM SOLVING

• Project Management – Making aggressive project plans
• Al castings – HPDC, LPDC, GDC – mfg. process –Casting, Machining and Assembly knowledge
• APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, IATF, VDA Quality System knowledge
• RFQ, Costing -  Product / Part costing, ROI - payback calculations
• Domain expertise in Sourcing / NPD process
• RM sources, portals and rate monitoring knowledge

• Lead and mentor NPD function to create functional excellence.
• Participate in business strategy meeting and pricing policy meeting.

ASSIGNMENT OF WORK

• Receives task instructions thru NPD
• Assign projects & work to team

OVERSIGHT RECEIVED:

• Work is subject to close management review at frequent intervals.

EXPERIENCE

• Relevant experience in Manufacturing Engg., NPD for > 20 years - Automotive Industry Experience, preferably in Aluminium die casting industry. Exposure to HMSI and export customers will an advantage.
