We’re looking for a dynamic Operations Lead to play a central role in scaling and managing a dark store network for a fast-growing rapid commerce vertical. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role requiring operational excellence, tech-savviness, and a data-driven mindset. The individual will be responsible for overseeing order processing workflows and warehouse performance to ensure rapid (2–6 hour) deliveries with high service consistency and accuracy.
You will act as the backbone of the fulfillment engine, establishing SOPs, optimizing performance, and driving coordination across multiple stakeholders including store teams, tech, and fleet operations.
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer / Venture Head
Experience Required: 5–8 years in logistics, e-commerce, or quick commerce operations
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management

Set up and standardize core warehouse workflows across all dark stores — including inwarding, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch.

Define and implement SOPs for inventory management, space optimization, layout planning, and replenishment.

Monitor and manage the performance of store managers, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are consistently met.

Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain safety, hygiene, and inventory integrity.
Order Fulfillment Excellence

Optimize WMS/OMS workflows to minimize order processing time and reduce manual errors.

Track live dashboards and proactively resolve order bottlenecks in pick-pack-dispatch operations.

Collaborate closely with Tech, Analytics, and Rider Fleet teams to ensure full order lifecycle visibility and timely deliveries.

Act as the central escalation point for operational issues at the store level.
Process Optimization & Data Analytics

Analyze performance data from dark stores to identify inefficiencies, SLA breaches, or underutilization.

Design and implement productivity interventions to increase picking rates and reduce idle time.

Partner with analytics teams to build real-time KPI dashboards and generate actionable insights.
People & Vendor Management

Align with HR on staffing plans, shift rosters, training modules, and retention initiatives for ground staff.

Work closely with procurement and infrastructure teams to standardize store setup (racks, bins, consumables, packaging materials
Success Metrics (KPIs):

Order Fulfillment SLA: >95% orders dispatched within 4-hour TAT

Order Accuracy: <1% order error rate

Productivity: Orders fulfilled per picker per shift

Inventory Accuracy: Minimize shrinkage and stock mismatches

SOP Compliance: High audit scores and adherence across stores
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
5–8 years of hands-on experience in warehouse/logistics operations — preferably in e-commerce, q-commerce, grocery delivery, or 3PL environments.

Deep familiarity with WMS/OMS tools and operational tech stacks for real-time visibility and control.

Proven track record of setting up scalable SOPs and running distributed fulfillment centers or stores.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel is essential; SQL is a plus.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, execution-heavy environment, with willingness to travel to dark store sites frequently.
