Job Description
For a Michelin star restaurant, we are currently recruiting a PASTRY CHEF
Main Duties:
- Development of specialty desserts for the Restaurant and Banquets.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all procedures.
- Ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
- Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations requirements.
- Inspect the cleanliness and organization of the work station; rectify any deficiencies; maintain throughout the shift.
- Prepare and produce dessert menu items for the Restaurant and Banquets following recipes and yield guides, according to the standards.
- Keep Executive Chef informed of all responsibilities of Pastry Kitchen to include production schedules, dessert development, menu changes, etc
- Review status of work and follow-up actions required with the team before leaving.
- Ability to manage production and expenses of the Pastry Kitchen in line with budget and forecast
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a starred/fine dining/gourmet restaurant.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines
- Strong teamwork skills in a kitchen environment
