• Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related issues.
• Recommend formulary alternatives when suitable.
• Compound and dispense medications accurately for patient delivery.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and other clinicians to facilitate patient care.
• Enter and verify medication orders and perform final checks before dispensing all medications, including sterile products, chemotherapy, TPNs, and controlled substances.
• Accurately document clinical activities and interventions.
• Supervise and direct pharmacy support personnel to deliver timely and cost-effective pharmaceutical services.
• Participate in hospital safety and quality programs, assisting in training new staff and students.
• Respond to code arrests and other emergent situations requiring pharmacist assistance.
• Perform essential duties of the pharmacy manager or director in their absence when the pharmacy clinical coordinator is unavailable.
• May be required to work at other network facilities.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Arizona Registered Pharmacist License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) upon employment and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of employment.
  • Graduation from an accredited School or College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree.
• Preferred:
  • Residency experience.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience.
  • IT Pharmacist experience.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
