JOB SUMMARY :
The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the operations and services of the pharmacy department. Working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, the Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for various tasks that contribute to the effective functioning of the pharmacy and the provision of quality pharmaceutical care to patients.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Service: Greet and assist patients and customers, ensuring a high level of professional and courteous service. Answer queries related to over-the-counter medications, prescription refills, and general pharmacy services.
- Dispensing and Inventory Management: Assist in the dispensing of medications, including counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions, as well as managing stock levels and assisting with inventory control.
- Prescription Processing: Receive and process prescription orders, verify patient information, and enter prescription details accurately into the pharmacy system. Assist in maintaining patient profiles and prescription records.
- Pharmacy Systems and Technology: Utilize pharmacy software and technology for tasks such as retrieving patient information, scanning prescriptions, and maintaining electronic records of filled prescriptions.
- Medication Organization and Compliance: Ensure that medications are stored, labeled, and handled appropriately, adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines. Assist in maintaining compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Support Services: Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing paperwork, and assisting with the maintenance of a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is typically required.
- Licensure or certification as a Phramasict, with eligibility for registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
- One year of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology, medication names, and dosage forms.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals.
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
