Responsibilities:
- Direct the radiation oncology physics program, providing technical direction to medical dosimetrists, therapy equipment service engineers, and other support staff.
- Calibrate therapy equipment to ensure accurate radiation dose delivery.
- Oversee the determination of radiation dose distribution in patients undergoing treatment.
- Perform acceptance testing of new equipment and treatment devices.
Objectives:
- Design, optimize, and evaluate treatment plans for precise and accurate delivery.
- Ensure radiation protection for patients and staff.
- Develop and implement quality management programs for external beam radiotherapy equipment and therapeutic radioisotopes.
- Review and approve radiation staff procedures for dose delivery.
