JOB SUMMARY
- Assess, evaluate, and treat patients as per diagnosis. To do regular documents, and progress notes.
- Re-evaluation of the patient and discharge summary for every patient.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make complete document initial physical therapy assessment and evaluation for every patient before application of treatment.
- Assessment and evaluation of patient must include:
- Subjective and objective evaluation
- Aims and plan of treatment must be appropriate to the patient's abilities, limitations, and patient’s needs.
- Treat the patient as diagnosis, physical therapy request, plan, prognosis, and patient’s needs.
- work closely with the supervisor/in charge of Physical Therapists, to ensure the best possible program for the physical therapists, rehabilitation unit, and the patient population.
- Keeps the In charge of physical Therapists informed concerning problems,recommendations, involving the physical therapy services program.
- Regular document and progress notes include re-evaluation of the patient to ensure the effectiveness of treatment, prognosis, and patient response.
- The discharge summary for every patient must include advice to the patient to return to the referral physician for consultation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Carried out specific requested treatment if it is appropriate and meets patient needs. If the requested treatment is inappropriate or does not meet the patient’s need, it is discussed with the supervisor or referring physician, and action and outcome are documented.
- Works closely with physicians and other health care and educational personnel to provide comprehensive and effective therapy programs for the patients involved.
- Provides thorough diagnostic evaluations of patients. Implements treatment protocols appropriate to the diagnosis and sets goals and timeframes in preparation for discharge planning.
- Treatment objectives are identified and coordinated with the patient and family members to assure maximum independence, productivity, and satisfaction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Graduation from approved medical school with a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy as a Physiotherapist
- Valid license to practice as required by the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia
Professional Experience
- Experience of at least 2 years or more
- Participate in continuous medical education programs and committees such as Q.I., multidisciplinary team and , family.
- Physiotherapists must have a training course but not limited to:
- Safe use of equipment
- Infection control and CPR
- Fire training and Disaster response
- Safety of self and patient
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
