Job Title: Plant Head - Plastic Injection Moulding
Job Summary:
The Plant Head for Plastic Injection Moulding is responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the plastic injection moulding plant. This includes managing production, ensuring quality control, maintaining machinery, implementing safety protocols, and leading a team of production staff. The Plant Head will also be responsible for optimizing processes to increase efficiency and minimize waste, as well as for fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
- Oversee all aspects of production, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
- Ensure that production targets are met while maintaining high quality standards.
- Implement strategies to optimize production processes and minimize downtime.
2. Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to implement improvements and prevent defects.
3. Machinery Maintenance:
- Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure that all machinery is operating efficiently.
- Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions to production.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
4. Safety Compliance:
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and provide training on safety procedures.
- Investigate any accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and direction to production staff, including supervisors and operators.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback as needed.
6. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the plant budget, including expenses related to labor, materials, and maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement measures to improve profitability.
7. Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that may affect operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a plastic injection moulding facility.
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic injection moulding processes and equipment.
- Proven track record of improving production efficiency and quality.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience with budget management and cost control.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
