Position Overview:
The Plant Manager / General Manager will be overseeing all facets of assembly operations. This pivotal role encompasses leadership over production efficiency, quality assurance, team development, and cost management, ensuring the plant's operations are seamlessly aligned with our corporate objectives. Your strategic foresight and operational expertise will be instrumental in propelling our assembly plant towards operational excellence, innovation, and market leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the assembly plant operations, ensuring efficient and timely completion of high-quality vehicles within budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement robust assembly strategies, processes, and schedules to meet production targets and optimize plant performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline assembly processes.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety, ensuring all activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation within the plant, fostering team development and promoting a positive work environment.
- Collaborate with supply chain management to ensure a smooth and timely flow of components and materials.
- Manage plant financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Engage with R&D and engineering teams to facilitate the introduction of new products and technologies into the assembly line.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and community leaders.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or a higher degree in engineering or related field
- Extensive experience in a managerial role within a commercial vehicle assembly environment or related manufacturing sector.
- Demonstrated proficiency in assembly line management, lean manufacturing techniques, and quality control principles.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, capable of motivating staff towards achieving operational targets.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a strategic approach to tackling challenges and driving continuous improvement.
- Solid financial acumen, adept at budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and upholding strict health and safety standards.
