Our client is an InsurTech platform that connects Insurers with both digital-native and traditional distributors of insurance, to promote relevant innovative and current insurance products. While still at start-up stage, they have partnered with 40+ insurance distributor companies from over 10 industries (within and beyond BFSI) in India, and have made insurance accessible to millennials, HNIs, first time insurance buyers, salaried individuals, rural population, blue-collar workers, home buyers, and multiple other customer segments. They are now expanding globally. To support their rapid growth and expansion, they are hiring highly accomplished engineering talent for their SaaS and PaaS platforms, at various levels.

Role details:

• Title / Designation: Principal Engineer – Full stack
• Role type: Team leadership, with significant individual contribution
• Reporting Manager: Head of Product Engineering
• Location: Bengaluru

Role & responsibilities:

• Technical leadership (design and development) of complex pieces of the SOA-based platform, ensuring the requisite levels for non-functional requirements like scale, availability, performance, reliability and security and best-in-class UX
• Ensuring design and development of cloud-native application, driven by microservices, containerization and observability
• Database design for large scale applications
• Leading technology-driven product innovation, through rapid prototyping and iterative development
• Creation of reference implementations for internal and external integrations and supporting backward compatibility, as required

Candidate requirements:

• 6 to 10 years of experience in one or more of Ruby-on-Rails, Python-Django or Node.js frameworks, relevant to the role and responsibilities, described above
• Engineering degree, preferably from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institute
• Self-starter, with a natural tendency to own company and team goals

Selection process:
