GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Private Markets Investment Support person is a member of the India Centre of Excellence (CoE) team functionally aligned to the Head of Private Markets in Switzerland. The role is part of the established CoE, which provides value-added services in areas of IWMS.
The IWMS Private Markets team has developed an attractive offering including dedicated investment structures (feeder funds, co-investments, fund-of-funds and bespoke mandates) that enable sophisticated private banking clients to invest in private markets.
The Private Markets Investment Support person is responsible to support the IWMS Private Markets team by delivering top-quality content to internal stakeholders as part of our investment due diligence process, as well as to private bank clients and prospects as part of our distribution value chain.
The main tasks include:
- Support IWMS Private Markets in all aspects related to daily activities, with a focus on recurring and deal related content production
- Contribute to the due diligence process across all Private Markets product lines, in tandem with a colleague in Zurich
- Contribute to production of sales and after-sales marketing collateral and performance updates in collaboration with marketing and sales colleagues
The main tools are MS Office (excellent commend of PowerPoint required), proprietary and third party databases.
To be successful in the role, the incumbent will need to:
- Have proven expertise in the area of private markets, particularly with the buyout fund ecosystem in developed markets, via:
- Master’s degree in Banking/Finance/Business Administration with ideally a focus in the area of illiquid or alternative investments. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree may also be considered if they explicitly meet the experience requirements.
- Recognised international certifications such as CAIA or CFA are a plus, but not a requirement.
- 3-7 years of experience in the area of manager selection (or similar), with a focus on private equity.
- Or 3-7 years of experience in a relevant role within a GP or private markets fund manager.
- Or 3-7 years of experience in the area of illiquid/alternatives investment distribution and sales.
- Or 3-7 years of investment experience in corporate M&A within a top tier institution.
- Show genuine interest in bringing closer together the world of wealth management with the world of Private Markets, including the necessary appetite to educate multiple stakeholders with heterogenous levels of familiarity with the asset class
- Demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills in English language
- Show high attention to detail, accountability and sense of ownership
- Show high integrity, be reliable, be able to deliver consistently high quality within agreed timeframes; have capacity to deliver under time pressure and to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Availability to work independently and team player with an interest in and deriving joy from collaborating with others;
- Capacity to discretely handle highly confidential and sensitive information
The role reports administratively to the Location Manager of the CoE and functionally to Head Private Markets based in Switzerland.
