Process Engineer - blow molding
Key Activities: • Process Planning. • Machine / Equipment selection for material processing, molding, welding of plastic parts. • Mold design, JIG and FIXTURE design. Manufacturing and validation of Molds, jigs and fixture through outside vendors. • Good understanding of automation using pneumatic and electric controls, PLCs etc • Process validation and qualification. • Process improvement (Quality and productivity) • Process Audit • PPAP documents • Process capability study and improvement • Layout design • Cycle time study • CCPM projects • Benchmarking of filter mfg. processes worldwide for current mfg. processes & new projects • Manpower reduction projects through VSM • Tooling management • Review and update master list of process documents i.e. PFD,FMEA,CP in order to ensure correct revision of document, date of document change • CCR review of manufacturing processes • Review and update work instructions/SOP to ensure incorporations instructions related to human safety and product safety • Auditing lines to ensure availability of latest WI,SOP at all manufacturing processes • Review and update FMEA and Control plan as per identified root cause and new controls to improve process capability. Routine Activities: • Quality control issues discussion in QCM • Action plan for quality issues • Correction on sudden failure • SOP, SPEC Sheet updation • p- tag resolution
KNOWLEDGE LEADERSHIP ROLE : ROLE IN STRATEGY / PLANNING/ PROBLEM SOLVING • Blow molding of plastic components • Concept design for blow mold, mold manufacturing • Mold trials and trouble shooting - In depth knowledge of Blow Mold design, Setting optimum molding Process through process design, feasibility of product manufacturing, machine and accessory selection. • Post molding operations and small automations. • Read and Understand 2D/3D drawing. In depth knowledge of mold functioning. • Plastic Material properties and application, Tools & Fixture designing, Auto Cad, Precision tool manufacturing. Automation through PLC/HMI and use of various sensors. • Understand layouts, types of production flow, takt time, ct Time & motion study, information flow, line balancing, Understand value stream mapping • In depth knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA , 6Sigma,Kaizen
