Our client is an international company activating in the manufacturing sector, looking for a Procurement Controller.
Procurement Controller
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Controller to manage the company’s supply of products and services, that will contribute to creating and implementing best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve the operational performance of the global procurement department.
Your responsibilities:
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
- Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Advice and use of fruitful sourcing strategies.
- Utilize appropriate resources including Supplier Development to ensure appropriate supplier partnerships and delivery of sourced products.
- Identify, through best practice, Key Performance Indicators relevant to the Group procurement activities.
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Purchasing activities.
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries.
- Examine and test existing contracts.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
- Expect unfavorable events through the analysis of data and preparation of control strategies.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Control spending and build a culture of long-term savings on procurement costs.
- Ensure that partners continue to meet company needs.
- Collect and analyze data to ensure the company is making the best decisions.
- Balance department budgets with needs
- Meet with managers and department heads to understand the needs across the company (group)
- Forecast needs and supplies.
- Review requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Delegate tasks to the procurement team (for group level)
- Train new employees and support team members as necessary
Your profile:
- Proven working experience as a Procurement Officer, Strategic Procurement, or Head of Procurement.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market
- Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- Proven management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate, and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
- A strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Results-orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
- Commercially and financially aware with experience in managing budgets.
- Keen to detail and accuracy.
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Strong leadership capabilities
