Role details:
- Title / Designation: Procurement Leader
- Reporting to: Managing Director
- Location: Chennai
Role & responsibilities:
- Develop inventive and cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Review existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Approve purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Control the procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term cost-saving.
- Oversee and manage IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supply of goods.
- Prepare procurement reports.
Candidate requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement leadership roles, with a minimum of 14 years of experience.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Proficiency in managing procurement budgets and promoting cost-saving initiatives.
- Experience in risk assessment and contract management.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with IT systems for procurement management
