Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
• Plan, organize, and manage execution of earthwork, minor and major bridges, ROBs, RUBs, and other structural works as per approved drawings and schedules.
• Review project plans, BOQs, and specifications to ensure scope clarity.
• Coordinate with design, survey, and quality teams for alignment finalization and technical approvals.
• Prepare and monitor work schedules, manpower, and equipment deployment plans.
• Ensure work progress aligns with milestones and take corrective measures for delays.
2. Site Management & Supervision
• Lead site teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors for effective execution.
• Oversee field operations for embankment formation, subgrade preparation, concrete structures, and drainage systems.
• Ensure proper utilization of machinery like dumpers, graders, compactors, batching plants, etc.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and safety standards.
3. Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Implement and enforce QA/QC protocols as per Railway / IRC / IS standards.
• Ensure all testing and documentation (cube tests, soil compaction, concrete mix design) are properly maintained.
• Promote a zero-accident culture and compliance with safety norms.
• Ensure environmental and statutory compliance (pollution, mining, material sourcing, etc.).
4. Coordination & Communication
• Liaise with Railway authorities, consultants, clients, and internal departments for smooth execution.
• Attend project review meetings and prepare progress reports.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for timely supply of materials.
• Interface with design and planning teams for technical clarifications.
5. Cost & Resource Management
• Monitor material consumption, wastage control, and productivity levels.
• Verify subcontractor bills, client measurements, and progress certification.
• Ensure adherence to budget and recommend cost optimization methods.
Qualifications & Experience
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Railway infrastructure projects with strong exposure to earthwork and structure works (bridges, ROBs, culverts, retaining walls).
• Hands-on experience with Railway / DFCCIL / RVNL / IRCON or major EPC contractors preferred.
• Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera) desirable.
