Procurement / Purchaser Specialist

 Role Scope:

The Purchaser/Procurement Specialist is integral to the Local Material Management Department, ensuring a seamless flow of materials essential for production. This role involves sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of materials necessary for the manufacturing process. The Purchaser will collaborate with suppliers, sibling companies, internal departments, and stakeholders to guarantee the timely availability of high-quality materials while optimizing costs and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

 Main Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for raw materials, components, and parts required for conveyor system manufacturing.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements and achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality standards.
• Monitor supplier performance, address issues, and foster long-term relationships to ensure a stable supply chain.
• Create purchase orders, track deliveries, and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Expedite purchased parts as and when required to support production requirements
• Organize transports for purchased parts and parts distributed to sibling companies
• Manage the administrative Intercompany process when parts are distributed to sibling companies
• Work closely with finance in order to clarify logged invoices.
• Create UIT codes for intracomunity deliveries/imports where applicable.

• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure purchased materials meet the required specifications and standards.
• Address quality issues with suppliers promptly and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
• Work closely with, production, engineering, and logistics departments to coordinate material deliveries and resolve any supply-related challenges.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure alignment on production schedules and material requirements.
• Support the team by stepping in when required to address ad hoc or higher demand in other categories.

 Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing and material management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using ERP software and tools (e.g., Epicor, MS Office).
• Proficient in English – spoken and written.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems and related components is a plus.
