The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a passionate and fast-growing biotech company developing novel diagnostic tests with the potential to significantly impact society. Contracting company is an in-vitro diagnostics biotech company focused on early detection of cancer using leading edge technologies. The company is using the power of next-generation sequencing (NGS), epigenetic alterations, population-scale clinical studies, and state-of-the-art computer science and data science to enhance the scientific understanding of cancer biology, and to develop its multi-cancer early detection blood test. Is located in Sevilla, Spain with R&D activities performed in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Job offer is for Ljubljana, Slovenia or alternatively, different locations in Spain (Seville, Madrid, Barcelona). Partially remote work opportunity is also negotiable.
You Will:
• Work in a team environment to:
• Apply artificial intelligence on wet laboratory and sequencing quality data to predict impact in downstream analysis and ensure quality control o Visit our laboratory with our specialists for direct contact and collaboration with the information source.
• Analyze and interpret molecular, analytical and clinical data in the context of early cancer detection and identification of molecular signatures across various types and stages of cancer o Guide and communicate with downstream processes and work teams.
Your Background Includes:
• MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Biology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics or Engineering with a Data Science or Artificial Intelligence specialty
• 1+ years post-study experience applying machine learning algorithms for research and/or product development in industry
• Experience in quality control data analysis of high-throughput, quantitative laboratory technologies
• Deep knowledge of machine learning fundamentals
• Proficiency in Linux environment and bash
• Excellence with computational and statistical programming
• Experience working with in high-throughput, quantitative technologies in genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, or transcriptomics (e.g., WGS, WGBS) is a plus
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge and experience with time management and timeline development
• Flexibility
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English

Type of employment:
• Permanent and full-time Probation Period: 6 months
• Gross annual salary: To be negotiated with the candidate Annual Bonus: Up to 20% of your gross salary based on objectives
