This role is pivotal in harmonizing engineering innovations with stringent quality standards, fostering a culture of excellence within a leading company in the Commercial Metals sector.
Responsibilities:
- Guide and merge the operations of engineering and quality assurance teams to meet organizational goals and client needs.
- Spearhead the management and enhancement of our quality management system, adhering to ISO 9001 standards.
- Develop and execute engineering projects aimed at optimizing equipment, manufacturing workflows, and tooling advancements.
- Evaluate maintenance strategies, operational metrics, and the efficacy of quality processes.
- Initiate and propel maintenance and quality enhancement projects through digital tools and lean practices.
- Coordinate and oversee significant capital projects, ensuring seamless integration of engineering activities.
- Uphold and champion company ethos, nurturing a work environment rooted in collaboration, trust, and outstanding performance.
- Enforce compliance with safety, environmental, and quality protocols.
- Administer non-destructive testing (NDT) certification programs and maintain adherence to pertinent standards.
- Implement lean six sigma methodologies for continual process improvement.
- Engage with clients to understand and address their requirements and feedback proactively.
- Lead teams in problem-solving and continuous improvement exercises.
- Empower and educate team members, fostering skill development and engagement.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in quality management within a manufacturing setting, preferably in the metals industry.
- Profound knowledge of quality control plans, standards (ASTM, AMS, ASME), and metallurgical principles.
