Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Quality Head to lead our client's quality management efforts across all aspects of their operations. You will be a self-starter with a strong sense of accountability, ensuring the consistent production of defect-free fasteners and machined components that meet the most stringent quality standards of their clients, including those in the defense sector. This role reports directly to the General Manager (GM) with a dotted line reporting to Plant Head & VP Sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with AS9100 and other relevant standards.
- Lead a team of quality inspectors and champion effective implementation of quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes, raw materials, and finished goods to proactively identify and address any quality issues.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring quality problems and ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
- Oversee supplier quality management, including vendor selection, qualification, and performance monitoring to ensure consistent quality from external partners.
- Conduct root cause analysis to pinpoint the root cause of quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production and engineering teams on quality-related matters, fostering a culture of quality excellence.
- Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., production, engineering, purchasing) to flawlessly integrate quality principles throughout the organization.
- Stay abreast of the latest quality standards and regulations applicable to the fastener and machined components industry.
- Continuously improve quality processes and procedures to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a working understanding of warehousing practices as they relate to quality control and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Metallurgy background is a must.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) preferred.
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the fastener or machined components industry.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and maintaining a QMS aligned with AS9100 or similar standards.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices (SPC, Six Sigma, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of metallurgy, with a specific focus on materials like Titanium, Stainless Steel, and other high-grade alloys.
- Experience in supplier quality management and ensuring consistent quality from vendors.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while also thriving in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to achieving the highest quality standards.
- Understanding of warehousing practices as they relate to quality control and inventory management.
