Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quality operations for the engine test area, ensuring adherence to global quality standards.
- Set quality standards, procedures, and best practices for engine testing.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing both intermediate and permanent corrective actions.
- Conduct process audits and assess process capability to ensure quality control.
- Drive improvements in product quality through engineering controls and root cause analysis.
- Create reports and track key quality metrics to ensure performance and continuous improvement.
- Train, mentor, and motivate junior quality engineers and team members.
- Collaborate with global quality teams and product teams to align with global quality processes.
- Analyze engine test data and present findings effectively to engineering teams.
- Ensure conformity with global quality systems, including APQP, PPAP, Cost of Poor Quality, and other certifications.
- Oversee machine capability studies and manage inspection tools and gages.
- Coordinate acceptance criteria for new machine tools and ensure proper certification and recertification.
- Assist with the proper disposition of non-conforming materials to ensure uninterrupted shipments to customers.
- Participate in internal certification and quality audits to meet corporate standards.
- Manage personnel issues, performance evaluations, and training for the quality team.
- Engage with Component Groups, Global Quality resources, and Facility Management to address quality concerns.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Manufacturing or related field (or equivalent experience in the engine domain).
- 15+ years of job-related experience in quality management, particularly in the engine testing domain.
- Strong understanding of quality management practices, including APQP, PPAP, and QMS.
- Knowledge of shop operations, maintenance procedures, and engine testing systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to develop cooperative working relationships with internal and external teams.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and present findings effectively to senior engineering teams.
