We are seeking an experienced Mining Engineer (or Chemical Engineer) to manage quarry development and extraction activities, ensuring safe operations, efficient resource utilization, and achievement of production and commercial targets.
This is a site-based position with direct responsibility for operational performance, cost control, production planning, and material quality.The experience is important for this role but it is not the main element, as the hiring manager is more interested in work-attitude, an engineer who is able to go in the field (mostly counties Brasov, Prahova to start with) and to help in developping the sites and to help growing their efficiency!Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise quarry extraction activities in line with approved operational design
- Prepare annual, monthly, and operational quarry development plans
- Monitor utilization of mineral reserves and optimize technological processes
- Ensure compliance with mining legislation and health & safety regulations
- Coordinate technical teams and external contractors
- Analyze production costs and implement efficiency improvements
- Participate in quarry expansion and extraction quality improvement initiatives
- Support development of new markets and sales of extracted materials
- Maintain communication with regulatory authorities, clients, and partners
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and performance analyses
Requirements
- University degree in Mining Engineering or related field (Chemical/ Industrial engineering in general)
- Proven experience in quarry or mining operations could be important (not eliminatory)
- Strong knowledge of mining legislation and regulatory compliance
- Solid planning and analytical skills
- Experience managing operational teams and contractors
- Cost awareness and production optimization experience
- Good communication and commercial understanding
- MS Office proficiency (knowledge of specialized mining software is an advantage)
- Good English (the direct boss is not locatted in Romania)
- Open to travel extensively.
