THE ROLE

R&D Manager

Main responsibilities:

• Coordinate the Technical Development Team and analyze and interpret the results selecting the best actions;

• Develop and validate the analytical method required for the API synthesis development process;

• Report results and status and discuss them with R&D Division Director and Site Manufacturing Operations Head;

• Ensure and guarantee the smooth work within the R&D lab, including manage and coordinate the purchasing, installation, qualification of equipment and raw materials required for the development work, all of it within time and cost budgeted;

• Prepare and ensure to meet the yearly budget of the Development Unit;

• Negotiate with suppliers needed for the running and improving of the R&D lab and solving problems;

• Coordinate with the Outsourcing Unit Manager of the R&D Division for potential developments to be transferred to external factories in case required;

• Fully comply with responsibilities and authorities on safety and quality

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Scientific Degree or PhD in Organic Chemistry or Synthetic Chemistry;

• Fluent English;

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position within an R&D Division;

• Familiar with production of generic API is needed;

• Excellent understanding of Organic and Analytical Chemistry and route of synthesis;

• Good understanding of DMF preparation, Regulatory and Quality Assurance within the API Pharmaceutical Industry.
