Description
For our Client a mobile telco in Switzerland -Renens- we are looking for a Radio network engineer to work on national radio planning, design, RF coverage and quality improvements to deliver the best mobile network experience to the customers considering the challenging Swiss terrain and regulations.
Your duties
• Link budget, national radio planning and design guidelines – definition, updates and maintenance
• Cross border interference coordination and management
• Analyze coverage predictions, plots, RF metrics (RSRP, RSCP, EcNo, RSRQ), KPIS, timing advance and antenna patterns to identify RF weaknesses affecting service performance and define improvement actions
• EMF, NIS, ERP and RF power management and evolution to maximize RF coverage and quality
• Network benchmarking and crowd-sourcing driven radio network planning and RF coverage improvements
• Defining, prioritizing, tracking, documenting, well argumenting and following up all network benchmarking and crowd-sourcing driven coverage requirements
• Work on and support the best site selection of the network sharing partner to complement, extend and improve The COMPANY`s RF coverage
• Technical representative for Railway tunnel and in-train solution design - ITuC/ITrC
• Technical project management and coordination – initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling and closing
• Liaise with and support connect optimization team, local radio planners, optimizers and Geo-Marketing team
• Coordinate and facilitate Technical review Meetings on radio HW and SW with the vendors
• Network Inventory Management business requirements for Q&A compliancy
• Support special projects radio planning, non-macro deployments
• Work on various tools like Aircom, Mapinfo, QGIS, NIM, NIS, OSS KPIs, RAN GEO etc
• Contributing to the introduction of new network features, products or technologies related to the RF segment, e.g Smart Power Lock, Downlink Symbol Blanking, Dynamic Power Sharing, Beamforming, Higher order MIMO etc
• Contribute to improve The COMPANY results in Connect yearly benchmarks
What you bring
• Degree in telecommunications or equivalent
• 5+ years of professional experience in the radio domain.
• Demonstrated experience in RF radio planning and design for UMTS, LTE and NR
• Experienced in RF coverage and quality improvements for UMTS, LTE and NR
• Mastery of radio planning (AIRCOM, ATOLL, PLANET etc.) and GIS tool (MapInfo, QGIs, Google Earth etc)
• Experience with RAN GEO/geolocation tool and RAN KPIs analysis
• Project management skills
• Good knowledge of radio equipment, site and installation engineering
• Experience with Huawei radio network products is a plus
• Good knowledge of link budgets for UMTS, LTE and NR
• Good knowledge of EMF, NIS, ERP and power configuration and management
• Good knowledge of NIS regulations and specifics for Switzerland market
• Good knowledge and practice of planning and optimization processes
• The geek inside yourself wants to automate as much as possible. You are not afraid of coding and learning
• Curious about RF fingerprinting automation
• Python skills are welcome
• Team worker. Willing to make a contribution and to make a difference. Does not give up until the issue is fixed
• Self-learner, Self-driven, Self-motivated.
• Very good presentation & communication.
• Easily approachable, friendly, & proactive in identifying areas for improvement
• Required languages: English and German. French is a plus
