As a Network Engineer you will:
- Have end to end ownership (architecture/design/scale) of a developing network
- Be responsible for the operation of this network fabric and the optical network
- Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers
- Create simple processes that help operate and build our network
- Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands
- Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to in life operations
- Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network adheres these standards
- Review and implement changes on the network
- Work closely with our automation teams to assist in defining the tools we require
- Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our network quality and reliability
- Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network
- Work with a wide range of complex technologies including optical engineering
Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of designing simple, solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.Flexible working hours: the option to choose between work schedules of either 5 days per week working 8 hours or 4 days per week working 10 hours.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience
- 4+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments.
- Experience designing network and data-center installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols.
- Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF
- Knowledge and experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
- Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing network and data-center installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols.
