Title: Engineer (Safety Critical Software)

Type: Permanent

Working hours: 37.5 hours a week.

Location: Chertsey or Portland

Parkside Recruitment are currently looking for a Safety Critical Software Engineer to work with a client that has offices in Chertsey and Portland.

This position would be ideal for those looking to pursue and further their software development career, in a safety critical environment.

Role:

This role will incorporate all forms of software development from designing to testing and reviewing an array of different systems.

Duties:

• Software design development and review for an array of different systems.
• Conduct safety-critical design activities and ensure rigorous testing procedures are in place.
• Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to administer software solutions.
• Provide feedback on decisions made on the quality of software design solutions.
• Manage technical requirements through all different stages of design and testing.
• Be able to communicate effectively with relevant Project Managers/Software Design Lead to resolve technical and project issues.
• Be able to generate produce clear technical documentation.

Relevant Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in a related engineering discipline
• Knowledge and experience of software design and development using UML and key software languages (C, C , C#, or Java).
• Experience working in a defence critical safety environment (SIL Level 2)
• UML-based design specification and implementation
• Structured software design methodologies
• Defence critical safety environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in progressing or working towards Chartered status.
