Job Purpose:
Short term: Develop market position and market share in Egypt, as well as build up a long term relationship with potential national or international customers in line with the division strategy and within the company in order to realise profitability and partnership.
Peer coach existing employees to perform and develop professionally at their best.
Long term: Assume the full responsibility of sales in Egypt, including managing distributors and the local company employees.
Develop market position and market share of the company portfolio in Egypt, and limited to Middle East, for company product portfolio in coordination with the respective crop teams and the Country Sales Manager.
Manage and coach existing employees to perform and develop professionally at their best.
Major Accountabilities:
Sales
- Realize the sales forecasts, create a pull effect and push on sales channels to ensure results.
- Plan, review, adapt and execute the annual and/or more annual sales plan in line with division strategy in order to match the plan with the production plan and stock.
- Introduce company product to (potential) national and international customers in line with division strategy in order to inform and acquire customers.
- Following the crop strategy and in coordination with the Country Sales Manager: formulate and negotiate with customers regarding annual and/or more annual contracts and concepts, within broader guidelines, in order to realise the short term sales targets and the long term partnership relation.
- Steer the Customer Team to assure all aspects for the correct development of the projects being carried out with the strategic customers being the most proactive link to always anticipate the critical path and avoid failure.
- Direct involvement in international or cross-border projects with customers is a part of his/her work,
Marketing
- Provide market, price, and product information in order to contribute to the formulation of the marketing and sales plan in the crop team.
- Report to the management in order to keep the management informed about proceedings in sales and the consequences for the other departments (operations).
Cash Management
- Take care of the money collection in line with the financial policy and the payment terms in order to ensure sufficient cash flow.
Product Development
- Contribute to the trial program of precommercial and commercial varieties in line with division strategy in order to come up with proposals regarding the assortment.
- Initiate the introduction of new varieties and propose on price level, and product forms in order to contribute to commercial success of new varieties.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor in agriculture.
- Experience in Agricultural business is a must, seeds business background is a strong plus.
- English language, business fluency is a must.
- Social versatility. Adapts to different cultures and social levels.
- Good listener and analyzer of customer needs.
- High level commercial (sales and marketing) skills, as well as management skills.
- Ability to communicate and influence.
- Able to work in a matrix organization.
- Able to mentor colleagues in the sales activity.
