Energy Storage Projects – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

The role focuses on the development and commercialization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects designed to support renewable energy integration, grid stability, and energy flexibility in emerging European energy markets.

Projects involve the engineering, installation, and commissioning of large-scale battery storage systems integrated with renewable energy assets, particularly solar power plants. These storage solutions are designed to capture excess electricity generated during periods of high renewable production and release it during peak demand, helping to balance generation and consumption within the grid. 

One of the landmark projects in the region includes the deployment of a 30 MW / 60 MWh grid-scale battery energy storage system integrated with a 55 MW photovoltaic power plant, forming one of the first large hybrid solar-plus-storage installations in the Western Balkans. The system enables the storage of surplus solar generation and its dispatch during periods of increased electricity demand, significantly improving grid reliability and the economic efficiency of renewable power generation. 

The projects typically involve full EPC delivery of the battery storage infrastructure, including system engineering, battery integration, power conversion systems, energy management software, and long-term technical services and maintenance. These installations are designed as scalable, modular solutions capable of supporting utility-scale renewable projects, industrial energy users, and grid operators. 

From a commercial perspective, the role of the Sales Engineer includes identifying and developing new project opportunities with renewable energy developers, utilities, and industrial clients, providing technical-commercial proposals for energy storage integration, and supporting the full project lifecycle from feasibility and system design to contract negotiation and project delivery.

Such battery storage projects play a critical role in Europe’s energy transition, enabling higher penetration of intermittent renewable sources such as solar and wind while ensuring stable and reliable electricity supply across regional power systems.
