Sales Manager - Electrical solutions sector
Location: Ideally based near Nantes area (with approx. 5 days/month at HQ)
Contract: Permanent – Full time
Reporting to: Sales Director France & Export
Team size: approx. 15 FTEs
Context
We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic French SME, headquartered in Western France, with subsidiaries in the Middle East and South America.
The company develops its activities through a network of distributors, resellers, and specialized electrical and IT installers, both in France and internationally.
As part of its growth, the company is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a team of 15 salespeople across the national territory and occasionally at export level.
Main Responsibilities
1. Define and implement the sales strategy
- Translate global objectives into actionable sales plans by region and channel (distributors, resellers, integrators).
- Identify growth levers in France and abroad.
- Contribute to pricing and promotional policy definition.
2. Manage and lead the sales team (approx. 15 people)
- Supervise account managers, field sales engineers, and inside sales representatives.
- Define revenue, margin, and product penetration objectives.
- Organize sales meetings and ensure team cohesion.
3. Drive sales performance
- Implement and monitor relevant KPIs (pipeline, conversion rate, market share).
- Analyze performance by region and by key account.
- Provide regular reporting to top management.
4. Develop team capabilities
- Identify training needs (products, sales techniques, CRM tools).
- Organize coaching and training sessions, including on cybersecurity solutions.
- Support skill development for complex sales (public sector, key accounts, installers).
5. Collaborate with other departments
- Work closely with marketing teams on partner campaigns.
- Coordinate actions with technical support and product managers.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
Profile
- Education: Master’s degree in business, management, or engineering (electrical / IT).
- Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in electrical/IT solutions sales, including at least 3 years in team management.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of distribution channels.
- Proven experience managing complex opportunities with long sales cycles.
- Solid understanding of electrical safety solutions.
- Strong leadership, analytical mindset, and results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in CRM/ERP tools.
- Fluent Professional English.
