Field Service Engineer UPS – (Data Centers)

The Company
Our client is an international group specialising in energy management, critical power and cooling solutions. It supports demanding customers across data centres, telecommunications, industry, healthcare and other mission-critical environments.
As part of the growth of its Data Center Solutions business in France, the company is seeking a Field Service Engineer specialising in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Service team, you will support customers in ensuring the availability, performance and reliability of their critical installations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive and corrective maintenance on UPS systems and associated equipment.
Managing or performing commissioning, performance testing, installation checks and technical acceptance activities, including within complex environments.
Responding to critical incidents and providing advanced technical support.
Conducting root-cause analyses and contributing to the continuous improvement of products, maintenance methods and service procedures.
Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including service reports, procedures, troubleshooting guides and best-practice standards.
Defining scopes of work for installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
Delivering technical training to internal service teams, service partners and customers.
Supporting the onboarding, technical assessment and development of service partners.
Working closely with Sales and Product teams on pre-sales and after-sales support, system upgrades and modernisation opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Higher education qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrotechnics, or a related discipline.
At least three years of experience in maintenance, commissioning or troubleshooting of UPS systems, power electronics or critical electrical infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of electrical installations and high-power environments.
Ability to diagnose complex field issues and operate effectively in demanding customer environments.
Autonomous, detail-oriented, customer-focused, with strong communication skills.
Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout France, with occasional travel across Europe.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within data centres, mission-critical environments or 24/7 infrastructures.
Knowledge of cooling solutions, SCADA/BMS or Building Management Systems.
Knowledge of battery technologies.
Relevant electrical safety qualifications and technical certifications.
