Job Description
For a luxury hotel in Milan, we are looking for a
Sales Manager
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Manager will sell rooms, function space and all services available of the hotel and to increase exposure and sales productivity.
Main Duties:
- To increase business/occupancy/total revenue and promote the identity of the hotel through establishing and maintaining good relationships with all relevant clients in the defined sales segment, working to meet the departmental sales targets.
- To solicit and develop new business from identified market segments and sources of business.
- To identify new sources of business based on economic trends and opportunities.
- To retain business by adhering to established retention strategies.
- To attend trade shows, promotions etc. representing the hotel and Hyatt in general, to keep a high profile in the market place.
- To input client data on a timely basis and accurately in all the relevant data bases and to ensure that the data is clean at all times.
- To review together with the DOSM the production of accounts on a regular basis.
- To liaise closely with the Event Sales Manager to ensure the guest needs and expectation are met.
- To make recommendations to management based on feedback of clients for the continual improvement of hotel operations.
- To assist in monitoring the activities of the competitor hotels.
- To provide the DOSM with recommendations for marketing strategies based on market feedback.
- To assist in the development of ideas and the increase of sales and productivity throughout the hotel.
- To ensure that all departmental reports and related correspondence are completed in liaison with the DOSM.
- To assist the DOSM in the implementation of the annual Sales & Marketing Business Plan and to establish a list of sales and marketing activities in line with the compilation of the Annual Business Plan.
- To ensure that incoming enquiries are handled by the Sales Coordinator/Events Sales team and ensure that these are followed up with proposals.
- To entertain clients regularly.
- To carry out the sales solicitation strategy developed for all applicable markets.
- To work closely with the Director of Revenue, to identify the top accounts and to develop sales and marketing strategies accordingly.
- To assist in the training of the Sales Coordinator ensuring that he/she has the necessary skills to perform her duty with the maximum efficiency.
- To work closely with Reservations to oversee and control all reservations.
- To ensure that the Sales & Marketing budget is strictly adhered to and that all costs are strictly controlled.
Requirements
- 3+ years professional experience in sales department in a business development role for international markets
- Experience in luxury hospitality or luxury retail industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English
- Excellent communication, presentation, organisational and collaborative skills
- A track record of steadily growing business through the sales activities
