I. Company introduction:

II. Job General scope:
Our client is looking for an Area Sales Manager – KAM - Chemicals for UK/Scandinavia.
Required is a dynamic personality who is customer oriented with solid scientific or commercial background.
The successful candidate will need to have tenacity to maintain this on a long-term basis. Therefore, it is important that they have the capability to use their own initiative and work independently.
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with a diverse customer base in assigned sales territory
- Execute Chemicals sales strategy and negotiate business for Chemicals complete product portfolio.
The successful candidate will be expected to have technical understanding of chemical intermediate products for key market sectors as resins, coatings, lubricants, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, flavourings and fragrances, printing inks and plastics.
This position reports to Regional Sales Director EMEA.
III. Main achievements/Missions/Objectives:
- Contribute to developing, and execute Chemicals sales strategy, plans and budget, in assigned sales territory.
- Work closely with global marketing organization to achieve revenue and profit goals and achieve company objectives.
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with all customers in the assigned region.
- Take leadership in negotiating supply contracts (1 – 5-year term) from initial offering to contract signature, in alignment with all relevant functions (i.e. VP of Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Legal Department.)
- Identify / develop new business opportunities at new or established accounts in alignment with global Marketing organization (for example, create / execute / monitor growth plans for selected accounts / products)
- Share market information to sales and marketing colleagues via CRM tool
- Create / execute / monitor / regularly update account plans for assigned key accounts
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, Commercial Business, supply chain, credit control, business development, customer service
- Develop deep knowledge of market and applications of products and good understanding of competition and market dynamics
- Provide regular input to demand forecasting process for each product sold to assigned accounts (18-month-planning horizon) and manage sales allocations with customers during times of constrained supply balancing customer needs with capabilities
- Follow up with customers regarding payment performance, where needed and provide input to credit manager with regard to credit limits for assigned accounts
- Networking e.g. by attending selected industry conferences or exhibitions
IV. Qualification requirements: ·
- 5-10 years of experience in a sales role in the area of chemical industry (B2B-Business)
- * Bachelor or master/Engineer degree in chemistry or commercial
- Capacity for teamwork, integrity
- * Self-motivated, result driven, customer oriented, hands-on-mentality
- Decision-making ability, self-management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Communications skills (persuasion, assertiveness)
- Willingness of Administration (f.ex. reportings)
- SAP + MS Office experiences
- English as Mother tongue + German skills are an added value
- Frequent travel up to 30-40%
