Sales Manager
This position will report to the Director of Sales. You will constantly be looking for cooperation opportunities and increase sales for the segments business individuals, business groups and leisure. You will travel to attend trade fairs & roadshows where required to further increase awareness for the hotel.
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and directing the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
The purpose of the role is to proactively position and market the property; manage the marketing budget to enable development of hotel specific campaigns, promotions, collateral, etc. to drive revenue and meet business objectives.The Sales Manager will work closely with the brand and revenue management, to develop and implement strategies to maximize Revpar and grow market share in a profitable way and grow market share as measured by STR.
Leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives. Strategies focus on delivering products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of guests and provides a return on investment to the owner.
Duties and responsibilities:
COMMERCIAL
- Develop strategy to solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed the hotels’ revenue goals;
- Account acquisition, through targeted sales activities to build your portfolio account, where your focus is on large-to-medium businesses;
- Arrange monthly production figures for the various segments;
- Analysing monthly production figures of the accounts, identify the needs of the accounts and take action if this is necessary;
- The fully maintained and proactive use of the customer database in our CRM.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of strategies and sales activities in the corporate and leisure segment;
- Ensuring and maintaining high quality customer database in the CRM system;
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support the long term stability of the business, providing customer service that is beyond the expectation of the client.
- Understand competitive landscape, local and feeder market dynamics, and changing customer needs to ensure property success;
- Gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognizing patterns and relationships in data to identify implications, problems and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses and consequences of alternative solutions and approaches to solving problems.
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities, new customers and new markets and ensure increase of the market share by closing high value sales deals.
PEOPLE
- Work together with the team to ensure the efficient day to day operation of the Sales and Marketing Department;
- Contribute a consistent way of working within the team aligned by set SOP’s and guidelines;
- Be motivated, committed and enthusiastic, seizing opportunities to learn new skills;
- Be able and willing to assist other team members to provide cover during holidays or other periods as required;
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other team members/director;
- Participate and initiate departmental meetings, team briefings and project work.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in hotel, travel & tourism, service sectors as Sales Manager or Sales Specialist/Executive
- Proficient in writing, speaking and negotiating in English and Italian language;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Ability to analyse data;
- Ability to priorities tasks & to manage workload using own initiative;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Team player – with a sense of humor even in the face of adversity.
