SAP basis administrators install, arrange, and maintain SAP software systems. SAP is one of the most widely used software programs for enterprise level business management and planning. Administrators work full-time to configure systems, set up needed accounts, and make sure that the entire SAP platform maintains optimal performance. People who are detail-oriented and like working in a fast-paced, team environment will thrive in this role. Successful administrators need strong technical understanding and a desire to continuously learn and master new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and install SAP applications on company servers.
- Support the creation of the server infrastructure and ensure that all technology workloads are balanced.
- Configure and troubleshoot software and are required to resolve any performance or startup issues that appear due to their installations.
- Maintain daily operational activities required for SAP basis administrators. Perform setup/configuration, object transports, troubleshooting, error handling, performance turning, and problem resolution. Administrators also schedule, perform, and oversee backups and restorations of SAP file systems. They create, test, and plan disaster recovery for SAP servers.
- Provide Technical Support for SAP systems is a critical task for basis administrators. Examine technical infrastructures, including transport and printer administration, job scheduling, designing, and implementing of SAP operational needs.
- Monitor SAP Systems Performance to ensure they are tuned and running efficiently. Guarantee the security of the SAP system by carefully watching for any security breaches or breakdowns.
- Schedule, monitor, and manage background jobs in a company specific database.
Experience and Education
- B.Tech / B.E./ M.C.A. M.Sc. B.Sc. or Bachelor degree in relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience as SAP Basis Administrator consultant for a major IT program involving multiple teams and/or projects.
- Ability to handle the troubleshooting of systems on which SAP is configured in case any problem arises.
- Ability to design, install, configure, and administer SAP databases often.
- Proficiency in documenting SAP processes, procedures, and plans, including changes, upgrades, and new services, is a key duty of SAP basis administrators.
