Job Description
B. Tech in Computer Science or Equivalent. MBA preferred
PMP and or Prince 2 Certification
Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
Experience of at least 8 – 10 years in SAP Financial Modules or Logistics Modules with good understanding of SAP ABAP and Basis
- To plan, monitor and oversee effective and efficient delivery of projects as per the scope, agreed timelines & expectations of client
- Study the project details to understand the requirements, scope, timelines etc.
- Develops effective project plans for the project by defining scope, estimating effort and evaluating high level design and architecture.
- Identifies & articulates implementation risks, mitigation strategies & creates contingency plans. Ensure effective implementation of risk-controls for the assigned projects
- Liaisons with internal partners for resource procurement (manpower /infrastructure/expertise).
- Participate in project kick off meeting and present to the customer overview of the project, support required, possible challenges, etc.
- Monitor the deliverables of the project team by conducting regular project reviews and seeking support from various leads as and when required. Ensure delivery in line with customer expectations for projects responsible for.
- Front end all escalations and ensure they are properly managed. Deploy effective controls are in place to mitigate the risks and overcome bottlenecks
- Ensure all agreed SLA 's and project milestones are met and update is shared with the client on regular basis
- Collaborate with the various leads and get the CR evaluated, take sign off from Practice Head. Prepare CR document with inputs from the Leads and submit to client for sign off. Post sign off, monitor the deliverables of the same to closure
- Ensure Trace tool is updated with necessary inputs like project creation, allocation of resources, milestone achievement, etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate project reporting to the senior management.
- Track with the project co-ordinator to check the status of the invoices if billed on time and provide support to the sales team in case of any intervention required for follow up of payments for the projects assigned
- Maintain close working relationships with clients and attend steering meetings/ review meetings for the assigned projects to provide project updates, understand issues, seek support, etc.
- Regularly monitor the accuracy and timeliness of time-sheets updations, track efforts variance and take necessary actions to minimize the same
- Encourage adoption of Project Management best practices for effective and efficient implementation of projects
- Monitor process performance trackers and baselines for the key process performance measures and take necessary actions to minimize negative outliers
- Ensure root cause analysis is conducted in cases of escalations, deviations from the project plan / estimated efforts and identify corrective and preventive measures, in consultation with Functional Leads, Technical Leads, Integration Leads
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by overseeing improvement projects, including automations, simplifications and enhanced controls across projects
- Effectively manager project closures. Update the knowledge assets such as lessons learnt, performance analysis, design documents, templates, presentations, minutes of the meetings etc. in the Knowledge Bank.
- Build a capable project team as per the project requirements and milestones.
- Set performance expectations, review team performance and provide constructive feedback
- Identify developmental needs of the team and provide inputs to the Functional / Technical / Integration Lead for providing necessary training and development avenues to the team
- Differentiate performance and reward high performers, thereby building high performance work culture
