Main Purpose of the Job
The Principal serves as the educational leader of the school. He / she is expected to inspire and motivate all members of the school community to ensure that all students are engaged in high quality learning opportunities that are aligned to the school’s philosophy. The ideal candidate must have international experience in the education sector.
Technical / Professional Leadership
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the International Baccalaureate Program’s
- Promotes, participates in and supports on-going professional learning and development that is directly linked to student progress.
- Fosters a professional learning community within which staff members are encouraged to be reflective practitioners engaging with research, and feedback on their professional practice.
- Provides professional direction to the work of others by encouraging vision and innovation in classroom practice and school organisation
- Reflects on own Performance Appraisal and demonstrates a commitment to own ongoing learning in order to improve performance
Strategic Leadership
- Actively works with the Board of Governors towards the development of a shared vision and Strategic Plan for the future of the school, which identifies priorities and targets for:
- Understands the implications of Pakistan’s changing cultural, social and economic context, and ensures that these changes are reflected in the school’s strategic planning.
- Makes progress towards achieving the vision through the effective management of available resources
Staff Management
- Motivates and supports staff to improve the quality of teaching and learning
- Establishes procedures and practices to maintain and improve staff effectiveness through appropriate recruitment, supervision, performance management, provision of professional development, and encouragement of self-development
Relationship Management
- Ensures regular interaction with parents and the school community on student progress and other school-related matters.
- Demonstrates an understanding of, and is responsive to the diverse concerns and needs of students, parents, staff, Board of Governors, and the community.
Financial and Asset Management
- Creates a teaching and learning environment that is perceived as safe and supportive by students, parents, Board of Governors and the community
- Manages an effective budget planning system, in association with the Board of Governors, and works within available resources
- Aligns resource allocation with the school’s annual and strategic objectives.
Statutory and Reporting requirements
- Provides the Board with timely and accurate information and advice on student learning and school operation.
- Works with the Board to ensure compliance with all relevant statues and regulations, and with monitoring and reporting requirements.
Other Responsibilities
- Oversees the development and effective management.
- Develops and implements an extensive sports and co-curricular programme.
- Develops and builds leadership capacity at different levels to ensure long-term sustainability and effective succession planning.
Minimum Requirement
- Masters Degree in the relevant field of Education is a must
- 8-10 years’ of experience in a Leadership role directing, managing, overseeing the International Baccalaureate programs in the school.
- The ideal candidate must have international experience in the education sector.
