Coding and Designing

• Identify and defines application requirements, standards & APIs
• Develop APIs and modern back-end systems to enhance end-user experience
• Integrate user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic
• Collaborate with Front-End Developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance user experiences
• Review implementation processes in terms of coding conventions and architecture
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement

Processes and Procedures

• Develop the architecture and implement processes of a high-performance, stable and high-scale e- commerce backend
• Develop processes and ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring business requirements, industry developments and trends
• Establish a link between development processes and Product Owners at an operational level

Minimum Qualifications/education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Engineering; or a Science degree

Minimum experience

• 7+ years’ experience in engineering/tech roles and building digital products in agile environments

Skills

• Strong expertise in working with functional programming languages and distributed, scalable and resilient micro-service landscapes while retaining a hands-on approach
• Highly experienced in maintaining the lifecycle of high-scale public and internal APIs including their design, implementation and depreciation
• Experience with various testing strategies of distributed systems
• Advanced coding skills and experience with implementing high-scale cloud architectures using modern, cloud-based container platforms (PaaS/SaaS)
• Ideally, knowledge of technologies like Apache Kafka, Json, Gradle, and Spring Boot
