JOB SUMMARY
Guide the pediatric intensive care unit as a critical care Section Head, delivering expert care for critically ill children, leading the development of specialized pediatric critical care services, and collaborating with teams to ensure the highest level of care for pediatric patients. You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/PICU department.
- Manage and supervise department staff, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to hospital policies.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care within the department.
- Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices.
- Allocate resources (staff, equipment, budget) effectively to meet departmental goals.
- Optimize utilization of available resources.
- Participate in budget planning and financial management.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Monitor performance metrics, patient satisfaction, and safety standards.
- Address any issues promptly.
- Mentor and develop staff members of the department.
- Facilitate training programs and continuous education.
- Promote evidence-based practice and professional development.
- Work closely with other department heads, hospital administration, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Participate in hospital committees and contribute to hospital-wide initiatives.
- Encourage research activities within the department.
- Explore innovative approaches to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with local and international healthcare regulations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Graduate from a Medical school of good standing.
- Saudi Arab or American /European Board Certification or equivalent.
- Membership and/or Fellowship status in America and/or Europe or their equivalent and fulfilling the criteria for the consultant as required
- A certificate recognized by the Saudi commission is a must.
- Dataflow is a must.
Professional Experience
- Min. 5 years Post Board/Fellowship in specialty.
- A registered member of the Saudi Board Council
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to address challenges and make informed decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing healthcare environments.
Language
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Arabic may be beneficial.
