SalaryJob DescriptionPosition Overview: The Senior Accountant role in Brasov – Rupea is crucial for maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities from preparing financial statements to ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive professional who can support our financial operations and contribute to our continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Documentation and Compliance: Examine and verify accounting documents for accuracy and ensure they comply with internal policies, procedures, and GAAP. This includes managing the full accounting cycle and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconciliation and Payment Proposals: Perform monthly reconciliations of payable and receivable accounts, inventory, and the fixed assets registry. Prepare payment proposals, ensuring all financial activities are executed efficiently.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements and supporting schedules for monthly reporting. This involves recognizing revenues, preparing reviews, and analyzing accounts receivable, contractual allowances, and bad debt.
- Audit Support: Provide comprehensive support during audits by preparing requested schedules and documentation in a timely manner. Assist in reconciling and reviewing account reconciliations as assigned by management.
- Process Improvement: Consistently review and evaluate internal accounting processes. Suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and operations.
- SAP and Systems Coordination: Work closely with the SAP team to ensure the financial modules meet the needs of the finance/accounting team and comply with local legislation. Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and software to enhance operational efficiency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on tax and fiscal statutory changes. Collaborate with the Chief Accountant and management to take necessary actions to remain compliant with local and international financial regulations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the finance and accounting department's objectives. This may include leading special projects, participating in training sessions, and collaborating with other departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and local financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Fluent in English, with any additional language skills being a plus.
