The company is a deep-tech advanced materials manufacturer headquartered in Europe, established in 2010.

It employs across more than 20 countries and has commercial, R&D and production presence in Europe, North America and Asia.

The company’s flagship product line is sold globally into sectors such as energy storage (including electric vehicle batteries), composites, plastics, elastomers, coatings and electronics. It maintains direct representation and partner networks in markets including the US, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and India.

The company’s Shanghai R&D centre is a strategic technical hub focused on developing advanced material solutions for the Asia-Pacific region. The facility occupies approximately 1,600 m² with multiple laboratories and over 200 specialized pieces of equipment, supporting application development in areas such as energy storage, plastics, coatings, composites and elastomers. It also provides local technical support and customised project work for key industrial partners and customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and further develop new high-potential advanced material applications for Nanotubes, including both technological feasibility and business potential assessment.
• Lead the development and commercialization of new nanotube-based products, formulations, and application technologies in close collaboration with R&D, production, and commercial teams.

• Manage and support the full Product Development Process (PDP), including but not limited:

• Market and application landscape analysis
• Definition and execution of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and performance validation studies
• Preparation of technical specifications and R&D task definitions
• Evaluation of product unit economics, scalability, and cost-performance balance
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve internal technical documentation, including product specifications, application guidelines, production documentation, and standard operating procedures.

• Contribute to the preparation of external technical and marketing materials (e.g., product presentations, application cases, product technical processing guides) to support product promotion and customer product adoption and further engagement.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects involving Marketing, Sales, Analytics, R&D, Production, EHS, Quality, and other internal stakeholders.
• Working closely with R&D Global Team, act as a technical expert and internal consultant on applications, providing support to regional commercial and technical teams.

Requirements

Education

• Master’s degree or PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Composite Materials, or a related technical field.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in R&D and/or Product Development within the polymer, chemical, composite, coating or any other advanced materials industries.
• Proven track record in application development, technology transfer, or commercialization of advanced materials.
• Knowledge and experience with common materials characterization techniques, with a focus on carbon nanomaterials, but not limited, will be considered as an advantage.

Languages

• Professional working proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is mandatory.

Additional Information

• Travel Requirements: High readiness for frequent business travel, including regular international trips across the Asia region and globally.
• Reporting Line: Directly reports to the Head of Product Development, with administrative reporting to the CEO of China.
