For our client, a publicly traded manufacturer of cleaning products and household goods (Hygiene, Health & Nutrition), we are looking for a
Senior Brand Category & Customer Controller (m/w/d)
Location: Heidelberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Industry: Hygiene, Health & Nutrition
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Support and analysis of sales budgets and reports
- Support sales teams in yearly customer negotiations
- Contributing to the conception, change and implementation of processes and systems. Participation in the annual planning and forecasting processes.
- Control of the efficient use of the trade promotions
- Preparation and implementation of ROI analyses for Trade investment activities (pre/post)
- Preparation and execution of analyses, with a focus on customers and brands
- Co-design of the sales information and control systems as well as ensuring the timely implementation of these systems
- Interface between Sales and Finance
- Prepare timely and accurate category plans, forecasts, outlooks, and strategic views
- Provide market analysis to understand and explain significant category performance variations from historical or expected results
- Ensure a seat at the decision table and provide high calibre respected advice / Information for all strategic business initiatives (such as sizing/ packaging/ pricing, etc.)
- Support and challenge / if necessary) category assumptions in analysing and implementing business growth opportunities, such as new product development and investment analysis
- Own and understand all aspects of the Commercial P&L, act as liaison between category management and Supply Finance with respect to S&OP planning, cost assumptions, Commodity movements, squeeze targets, inventory obsolescence, etc.
- Develop strong understanding of all category / customer trade investments strategies ensuring fill alignment with category LSM
- Manage Functionality, usage, and continuous improvement of various financial tools, process and procedures.
- Maintain positive and proactive interaction with category management to ensure ongoing, effective two-way working relationships for exchange of quality financial information.
Your Profile:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration
- Major in Finance is a plus.
- Excellent English, good German skills
- 4 – 5 Years experience in finance controlling
- Experience in extremely competitive FMCG industry
- Strong system direction and interaction (SAP, Microsoft Office)
- Solid Experience Trade Spend Accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with forecasting methods and data analysis
- Strong commercial understanding
- Advanced accounting skills
- Excellent MS Excel knowledge
