Our team is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join us in our mission. In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our DevOps infrastructure and processes. The primary responsibility will be ensuring that our solutions can bereliably deployed to various environments (testing, staging, production) with minimal friction. The ideal candidate will have experience in both software development and systems administration and be well versed in modern DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, containerization, continuous integration, and automation. We currently have a couple dozen production products based on a variety of technologies and several development teams, so the ideal candidate is someone who likes variety, is great at solving tough problems, and works and communicates well with people across countries and time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and services into our DevOps environment, and mentor/educate developers in DevOps related practices in their teams and products.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, and lead incident response efforts as needed
- Continuously improve the scalability, security, and reliability of our infrastructure
Who You Are: As a DevOps engineer, you must have 5+ years of experience working with software at scale. You should be comfortable working across multiple applications and systems. You should be self-motivated, always willing to learn, and ready to share what you learn with others. You should be comfortable working on a small team where the quality of your work will have a significant impact.
The following technologies and skills are required for this role:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Jenkins, Travis,
- GitHub Actions Docker, Kubernetes, GitOps, PagerDuty and Ansible.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms, especially AWS, with some experience in Azure or GCP a plus.
- Experience with IaC, especially using Terraform, and optionally AWS CDK or Pulumi.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, and optionally PowerShell.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog, Rapid7, New Relic, PagerDuty, Splunk, etc.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Particularly the ability to cross-train others and document processes. Which, if done well, will result in uninterrupted vacations.
