Senior Electrical Engineer / Assistant Manager - Design & Engineering

Position Overview 
Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Assistant Manager to lead detailed engineering activities for ground-mounted and rooftop 
solar photovoltaic systems. This role focuses on industrial and commercial solar projects, requiring expertise in electrical system design, 
substations, and power evacuation systems.

Reports To: Manager – Design and Engineering 
Experience Required: 4+ years in Design & Engineering 

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Design & Documentation 
• Lead detailed engineering design for solar PV systems including system layouts, single line diagrams (SLDs), and electrical 
calculations. 
• Prepare comprehensive technical specifications for AC electrical systems including transformers, HT/LT switchgear panels, cables, 

UPS, and substation equipment 
• Develop design basis reports covering load schedules, cable sizing, earthing calculations, and lightning protection systems 
• Create detailed Bill of Materials (BoM) and optimize system components for maximum energy generation 

Substation & Power Systems Design 
• Design 220kV, 132/110kV, and 33kV substations with complete electrical layouts 
• Prepare protection and metering diagrams, relay coordination studies, and fault level analysis 
• Develop substation equipment layouts, cable tray designs, earthing layouts, and switchyard configurations 
• Handle equipment sizing for transformers, battery systems, UPS, and current/potential transformers 

Project Coordination & Management 
• Coordinate with contractors, clients, vendors, and internal departments for technical issue resolution 
• Review vendor drawings and technical specifications for electrical equipment compliance 
• Prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) for major electrical components 
• Conduct technical reviews and provide approvals for project implementations 

Performance & Quality Assurance 
• Ensure accurate plant performance estimation and grid interconnection compliance 
• Prepare as-built drawings and performance documentation for project handover to O&M teams 
• Conduct site visits and customer meetings as required for project optimization 
• Maintain compliance with national and state grid policies and electrical standards 

Required Qualifications 

Education 
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering 

Experience 
• 4+ years of total work experience in electrical design and engineering 
• Proven experience in solar PV system design and implementation 
• Strong background in substation design and electrical power systems 

Technical Skills 
• Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, Helioscope, Google SketchUp, MS Office Suite 
• Design Expertise: Single line diagrams, electrical layouts, cable sizing calculations 
• System Knowledge: Photovoltaic systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and grid integration 
• Standards Knowledge: IEC, IEEE, and Indian electrical standards compliance 

Core Competencies 
• Comprehensive understanding of electrical system evacuation including civil and structural integration 
• Experience with relay coordination, protection systems, and SCADA architecture 
• Knowledge of transmission line systems and grid interconnection requirements 
• Ability to optimize electrical designs for cost-effectiveness and performance 

Communication & Collaboration 
• Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English and Hindi 
• Strong presentation and client interaction capabilities 
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 
• Experience in technical documentation and report preparation
