Our client a large holding company having a portfolio in the farming sector is looking for a Senior Farm Engineer. Due to large volume of applications, candidates not having the required experience will not be contacted.

Requirements (Must)

●             Experience in data analytics

●             Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience

●             Strong understanding and relevant experience in agricultural engineering

Overview :

Participate in the preparation, planning and implementation of a crop plan to achieve Company’s targeted production volumes.

Supervise the contracting process with farm owners for the supply of agricultural products, follow up with the daily incoming of products and ensure that payments are made to farm owners to secure targeted quantities and quality of agricultural products at all times.

The role also includes supervising trainings and extension services provided to farmers addressing their needs and challenges.

Roles & responsibilities :

● Coordinate with the Crop Planning section to share insights and participate in the preparation of Company’s crop plan

● Monitor the farm visits conducted by the extension engineers and the farms coordinators and ensure that farmers’ needs are properly recorded and addressed

● Work closely with contracted farms to identify issues and challenges in order to provide relevant insights for the development of the annual extension plan

● Provide extension services and work closely with farmers to implement activities from the annual extension plan

● Conduct periodic visits to contracted farms to analyze soil and environmental conditions, and develop trainings on adequate farming techniques

● Provide advice on water quality and issues related to pollution management

● Measure performance and crop yield and monitor production of farms to gather relevant information in order to develop appropriate trainings

● Supervise the preparation of trainings on yield improvement techniques to support farm owners in achieving target volumes and meeting expected quality requirements
