Our client, a Dutch company active in the field of production, is looking for a:

Senior Financial Controller

About the role

As the Senior Controller, you will be responsible for auditing (internal/external) and controlling function. You will report directly to the Finance Director, General Manager and has a dotted line towards the Group CFO.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accounting is compliant for statutory accounts with local Romanian GAAP
• Oversight on and execution of correct auditing processes both internally and externally (both for statutory and group)
• Preparation of the KPI’s, monthly and periodically reports
• Address any controlling problems across the business and take the initiative to address and solve them.
• Directly being the contact person for the auditor, and other external stakeholders.
• Auditing and Controlling all financial statements, VAT, Wage taxes, CIT, statutory accounts.
• Implement business processes and reporting to support the regulatory review, internal/ external audit and close activities.
• Be responsible to implement and improve the internal control framework.
• Be sparring partner for the business, initiate overviews and analysis by request and ad-hoc.
• Support the root cause analysis of data quality issues by analyzing data, processes, or data flows.
• Drive process improvements and automation to improve efficiency within the finance function and within the organization.
• Execute the yearly business planning cycle; budgeting, forecasting, yearend closing, etc.
• Participate in the standardization, harmonization and further optimization of our financial reporting;
• Support the management in ad-hoc evaluations and participate in projects to optimize our cost structure and financial processes.
• Frequently updating the Group CFO related to any topic.

Qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in controlling or 10 years in the financial-accounting department.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts and balance sheet compliance;
• Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel);
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
• An affinity for numbers and an analytical mindset;
• Solution-oriented, proactive and structured approach;
• Fluent in English.
