Senior Laywer Oil and Gas Exploration

For a medium sized agile player in the Oil and Gas exploration and production industry, we are looking for a Senior Lawyer to be based at the Almaty office with extensive part of the work near the exploration site near Aktau.

The Position: 

We are looking for a lawyer to take over the role of Head of Legal for a company the specialises in exploration production in Oil and Gas deposits. For their operation in Kazakhstan. The main tasks will include

• Day to to day operation from a legal point of view
• Ensure all local and international regulations are met
• Supporting the development projects (i.e. Construction contracts, EPC, procurement etc)
• Be the legal support for the senior management team
• Drafting of all major agreements with service providers and local institutions
• Representing the company at official events

The Person

He or she would need to have experience in the oil industry and would need to really know the Sub Soil Users Code, the relevant legislation and regulations as well has have experience with oil and gas development projects (i.e. construction contracts, EPC, procurement).  As the company is currently moving from exploration to production phase a massive expansion phase is ahead, so we would be looking for someone with potential and interest to further growth.
